Save Electricity Now !!!

Electricity is constantly being wasted as people are unaware of the extremely dangerous situation we are in.Our natural resources are running out and most people do not know how to conserve electricity.

Oil ,coal and natural gas-the main resources for generating electricity-are running out.The electricity consumption has nearly doubled every 20 years since 1990.These natural resources are not renewable. As they are not renewable, their cost prices have increased. Thus the cost of electricity is also rising rapidly.

Only 15% of the pupils my group interviewed never turn on the aircon or fan everyday. Most of them, too, switch on the lights when they sleep. This clearly shows that most pupils do not know how to save electricity.

Most homes do not install energy efficient appliances that lower consumption and switching to gas for domestic cooking and heating.By buying energy efficient technologies like efficient light bulbs, appliances, and cars that get more mileage per gallon,we save money because we use less fuel.

It is indeed important to conserve electricity. Our usage of electricity has increased and the cost of electricity has also risen. We ought to play our part in conserving electricity.

Journal No.1 ( June Holidays )

The first week of the June holidays went by very quickly , and I had lots of fun ! As I went to a childcare , I had to follow the schedule of activities the teachers had planned . Every day , the P5s went to outdoor first . Yesterday , we played captain's ball and it was very fun . The weather was very hot and I was extremely sweaty . But , I had enjoyed the exciting game eventhough we played under the hot sun . Today , I am not going to the childcare . I am at my cousins' house and we are having lots of fun !!! We just went to Sentosa and I got very wet as I played in the sea . I was also covered with sand too . It was just the beginning of the fun at the beach when suddenly , rain poured down . We all had to rush to the shelter and wait for the rain to stop . But as it was getting late , we had no choice but to walk to the carpark in the rain . When we got back home , we had to take a bath as quickly as possible to avoid catching a cold . Even as the rain spoiled all our holiday plans , I still had a lot of fun this week ! I hope the 2nd week of the holidays will also be as interesting as this week !!!

Biomes...Biomes...

I wish to live in the rainforest biome because it is capable of supporting life.It has sufficient amount of rain and therefore,it is not as hot as the desert. Many trees and plants grow in the rainforests,so if I were to live there,I think I will be able to survive on the fresh fruits and water. There are wild animals there, but there are also tame animals. So I think living in the rainforest biome is the most suitable place for me to live in.

More About Raffles...

I think that the name "Raffles" is very highly respected and regarded because Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles found modern Singapore on 6 February. He also founded Zoological Society of London and the London Zoo.

Adventure Camp

I find the Adventure Camp very interesting and fun.I overcame a little bit of my fear of heights and now dared to do the abseiling again.I tried the rock-climbing and found it quite tiring but fun.The campfire was amazing and very big.The songs, too, were very nicely sung and very sweet. The floor of the dorm was very hard and I found it difficult to sleep. But somehow I managed to sleep soundly.I hope I can go to Adventure Camp again.

A Promise Is A Promise

I think promises is are meant to be kept. But some promises cannot be kept because they may be impossible. If I were Aurelius,I will keep my promise and give the magician a thousand pounds. But who knew that Dorigen's husband came back without his ship destroyed by the rocks. So I broke my promise and could not pay the magician a thousand pounds.Luckily, the magician listened to my story and did not ask me for the thousand pounds. So that is why some promises are meant to be kept but some are not.

To Clone Or Not To Clone?

I think it is wrong to clone as Baboon group showed us a picture of a deformed clone of a dog/man during their presentation. It is also very expensive and the success rate is only 0.1 percent to 3 percent as it is yet to be perfected. We also do not know whether it is ethical or not.It also takes away the uniqueness of the person who wants to clone themselves.

It is also right as cloning ensures the continuity of a particular family. It would also be good if I were to clone myself and do a number of things at one time.If a particular person has a failing organ, they could clone another organ and get a brand new one!

My Amazing Adventure-A Story From Lilliput

I ran across the field to my friend's house. The field was big and wide, but I was not tired.Suddenly, I tripped over a "log". The "log" suddenly moved, and i ran as fast as I could.not to my friend's house but to the town centre to report the matter.
